In this lesson and our previous lesson, we are using 來 and 去 (known as directional suffix) to form sentences such as, "I come in." "You go out." "He comes up." "He goes down." 

Directional Suffix is a very important concept in Chinese, and with that grammatical concept, you can generate more conversational sentences in your daily life!

Clinginess (黏/黏Nián):

Most people have the impression(印象/印象yìnxiàng) that Asian woman (in this case, Chinese-speaking Asian women) are less independent(獨立/独立dúlì) than western women. This is partially true. But as we mentioned previously, the new generation of Asian women are more and more westernized and tend to be less clingy.

Compared to western woman, Asian women still hope to find a man to depend on(依靠/依靠yīkào) emotionally and financially in life.

As my mom always told me when I was young: “A woman’s happiness all depends on the man she marries.”(一個女人最大的幸福就是嫁給疼愛她的男人 / 一个女人最大的幸福就是嫁给疼爱她的男人yígè nǚrén zuìdà de xìngfú jiùshì jià gěi téng'ài tā de nánrén)
